Bunks Bring the Hulls to Life
While I wait for the wayward paint, I’ve prepared bunk levels in both hulls through to bulkhead 4, including locker access covers. There’s still epoxy, fillets, knees and paint to do, but this stage is oddly satisfying.
And in meantime, waiting for some extra paint which by multiple mistakes travels around the whole country (being mistakenly sent to Scotland!) my hulls got a whole new level of completeness.
I’ve got bunks. Yes, in plural! Both hulls have their bunk level stuff prepared all the way to the bulkhead 4 - which essentially means a collision locker at the bows and bunks in front cabin.
I’m actually quite proud of them. There are some proper covers allowing for access to the locker under the bunk and they are fitting very well (both bunks and covers!). Yes, of course I still need to epoxy them, put bulkhead fillets everywhere and some plywood knees between the stringers - but I have all elements already prepared. Then some paint over it and I can close off another space on our boat.
I must admit, this stage of the build is oddly satisfying!
Ps. If I manage to get finally to my computer there will be a full video about preparing the bunks - this time I remembered to film it!
Of course first it will show on Patreon but a week later it will be available on our YouTube channel.
