Templating the Scary Plywood Partition
I’m back to the scary stuff: templating the main cabin partition before committing my limited 12mm plywood. It needs to be right before I can build the shelves and seats around it.
Ok, graduated back to the scary stuff!
With that one I’m not taking any chances - 12mm plywood is not cheap and more importantly- I have limited pieces, exactly what I need for the hulls. So I cannot really afford making mistakes here.
There is a bit of a leeway in the fact that this bulkhead is made out of two pieces- because in fact it is not, in terms of construction- a bulkhead. It is just a partition between two compartments of the main cabin.
But that doesn’t make it any less stressful!
So back to the templating it is. Only when I’m completely satisfied that everything is as it should be it will be cut out in plywood. Of course with a huge amount above the lower hull but that one is not stressful at all - it doesn’t need to conform to the existing hull!
I know, I’m still doing small stuff but the next on my list was shelves and seats. I realised I cannot really start on that without this partition in place since they are supported by it :)
So scary stuff it is!
