Finding the Right Cabin Table Height

I’m fitting bulkhead 5, shelf bearers and intricate mast beam knees, while testing the table position that will double as my office. After a few tries, I’ve found a comfortable place to sit inside the hull.

Finding the Right Cabin Table Height

Another day doing small things which have to be done.
Fitting bulkhead nr 5 in starboard hull cannot be done without preparing bearers for shelves. Mast beam knees need their meaty beam through bearers- and since they are coming right at the stringer level, they are quite intricate! And another pair of bearers - and knees - are also to be made very soon.
Later some fillets and stringers with their scarfs.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t have time to look forward. Checking what will be a correct and comfortable level of a table might seem far fetched but actually fittings needed for this are to be fitted VERY SOON! And since I had a suspicion that a small folding table in plans was rather an afterthought and a compromise (ok, Hanneke did not hide her feelings about a table in her instructions!) I preferred to check - as this table is going to double as my office! As expected, putting the table at shelf level is doable and working but it is far from comfortable… so after few tries I have found a correct table position.
It feels so good to be able to sit in the cabin and by the table inside the hull 😜
