Matching Bulkhead 8 to the Sterns
I’m correcting for a badly placed rear bulkhead by matching bulkhead 8 to the sterns that actually exist. It’s not affecting the boat itself, but it is making the job considerably more awkward.
I’m not feeling well these past few days, battling a serious headache and cold, so I’m not really doing much today, just easing into the Shabbat.
But still I’m doing what needs to be done- truthfully I was putting it off knowing that it will be an awful job.
You see, a helper at the start of this journey made a big mistake (ok, made a lot of mistakes but that one affected me the most!) with placement of one of the rear bulkheads. And I didn’t catch it in time, being distracted by my work as a cabbie. I put too much trust in him and it came back to bite me.
It won’t be affecting the boat itself, but because of this error I had huge problems with matching sides of the lower hull’s stern and now I need to match bulkhead 8 to the EXISTING sterns - not those which should be. Difference isn’t huge but big enough to cause additional headaches 🙂
I’m not sure if you ever noticed that in the timelapses- but I often have my headphones on. They have great noise cancellation and are superb to work with noisy stuff. I usually get some audiobooks on - thanks to Audible. There is a lot of choice in there, plenty of books about sailing and it is great to listen to them while working on the boat. And with subscription you not only get a credit for one audiobook to own monthly but also have access to a catalogue of audiobooks which you can simply listen to as long as you subscribe to the service. I have plenty lined up in my collection.
And since Amazon has a new trial offer on the cards, right now (till the end of July) you can try it for free for 3 months!
All you need to do is sign up - and if you do it through the link below, you’ll be supporting our project as well with no cost to yourself- so I invite all of you to try it!
