Fitting the Epoxy-Coated Hull Sheets

I’m slowly getting the hull dressed, fitting epoxy-coated sheets with generous edges and leaving the lower edge until the stringers and skin are working together. Large screws let me hang each sheet and pull it in without stress.

Fitting the Epoxy-Coated Hull Sheets

We are slowly getting dressed! As planned all prepped sheets were epoxied with second layer yesterday and now it is time to get them in place, fixed.
More observant of you may notice, that I do not trust myself and even after dry-fitting I have not cut the sheets exact but with a liberal edge added to marked positions. Experience with lower hulls shows up - I prefer to spend a few hours with a multitool trimming it after fitting all than to wonder how to add extra 😂
Another bit I left for later is glueing the lower edge. As you can see from the gap the sheet is being bent a bit here and it seems to be much easier to do it after two stringers are one with the skin than straight away. I might be wrong (but that’s highly unlikely!).
First piece took 3 hours, with second I took a moment to think and it was half that time. It is a breeze compared to the lower hulls so far! (Where is this piece of wood…?)
I’m using a couple of large screws so I can simply hang the sheet covered with epoxy on a stringer and screw all screws squeezing it without stress and any problems. Works ;)
