Sealing Every Square Inch of Hull
Before I close off any more spaces, I need to seal every damaged surface, screw hole and bit of bare wood inside the hulls with epoxy. It is one of those jobs that adds several unaccounted-for hours to a Wednesday.
Well, while working on cleaning both hulls I have realised I have another task at hand before I can get to “more constructive” jobs.
You see, anything I’ll do from now on creates another closed off, finished space. Under the floors, bow, stern - they all will be finished and almost completely (or completely!) sealed.
Which means I’ll have no access anymore to these spaces and before we get there - I need to make sure there is absolutely no bare wood left. So it is sealing time - with small amounts of epoxy going over every square inch of the hull - which at this moment is 35 feet long- to make sure I seal every damaged surface, any screw hole, absolutely everything. Even one left may be the entry route for water and cause in the long run rot inside the hull.
Well, another few hours not accounted for before. Seems like normal Wednesday 🤪 #allelectric #tiki38 #allelectricboat #theseanation #buildingwharram
