Checking the Stringer Flow Before Fitting

I’m taking the slow, careful route with the stringers, using partitions and mast knees to control their flow and avoid surprises later. Trusting and checking beats trusting alone.

Checking the Stringer Flow Before Fitting

Well, these bits which normally would be done by two-three people are taking a lot of time. Especially that it is not just about putting the stringer in the notches and calling it a day.
No, there is a lot more to this. Yes, sure, you can do it in such a way but over these years I have found that I am not trusting myself enough to risk that! (Not that I trusted anyone including myself before, but mentality of “trusting AND checking” went up quite a few notches up these days 😜).
And that’s why you’re starting to see the bits I have been working on lately showing up in the hulls. Partitions, mast knees and similar things. Not that I’m fitting them now - but they serve as a good way of controlling the flow of the stringer - and allow me to avoid surprises later on, when I will be fitting them and stringers will be already fitted! (Yes, I never liked surprises… nothing changed here, I still don’t like them!)
