- Description: I noticed that the 12mm okume plywood turns much darker after epoxying than the older 9mm and 18mm sheets. I also reorganised the workshop and counted my way towards closing the hulls—apparently not very successfully.

I love how wood changes its colour when epoxied. Suddenly it becomes much darker and more vibrant…
And funny how the same wood (okume) behaves differently in different batches of plywood! All 12mm thick plywood was bought much later than most of 18mm and 9mm used so far. And you can notice the difference- 9mm and 18mm are relatively light in colour after epoxying but all bits made out of 12mm are very dark! You can see the difference on one of the photos - stems are light while laying next to them bulkhead is very dark. Amazing!
I could not start the week with a broom as usual since I had all these things all around but still made some cleaning. This time, moved my huge table (full sheet of MDF) to the side of the workshop and then moved all the plywood right in the middle. This way access to this pile of material is much easier and it feels much more spacious. Of course it is not since plywood and table are exactly the same size but at least there is nothing hanging over plywood so hopefully it will be less effort to get to it.
There is some more 9mm plywood coming this week and another portion of resin, this time with slow hardener. I hope to get to over 20 sheets of 9mm plywood by next month - the hull sides on the top hulls take 20 and to close the hulls I need 26 sheets- I have 5 left. There are some more needed but that’s between the hulls so no worries about that one for now.
Funny thing is I have one 18mm sheet over - how I managed to buy the most expensive plywood (and least numerous in terms of sheets) extra I have no idea. Obviously I cannot count to 5 😂
