- Description: I cleaned and recoated the bulkheads, using far more epoxy than expected—about 1.5 to 2 litres across two layers. Resin removal cream remains essential, and I’m finally learning that slow hardener has its advantages.

Early start (nothing new!) - cleaned up all epoxied bulkheads and covered with another layer of epoxy. And 3 hours (and three playlists later) I have a break as there is nothing to do before it hardens properly.
Oh, and of course a good scrub - as usual I covered my arms in epoxy too 😂 that is the reason why I have a sink and a shower in the workshop- resin removal cream works great provided the resin in question isn’t hardened yet!
Btw, this stuff is extremely efficient. This single bottle of it (250ml) is with me for last four years. And that’s despite my propensity to cover myself in resin ;)
While we at the topic of usage - one would think that for covering things with epoxy doesn’t really use much of the resin.
Well, obviously that depends on what you’re covering. You are right if you’re comparing it to other processes- sealing stuff requires least amount of resin - but when you’re covering so many bulkheads in two layers it adds up. On the photo you have bulkhead number 6 - second largest in the hull. What you see is about 2.5 pump of resin - that’s 50ml - which is even slightly too much for a second layer. Doesn’t seem a lot! But on first layer on the same bulkhead it was over 5 pumps - over twice the amount. I didn’t count it then but out of curiosity I decided to check how much will I use today, for a second layer. 25 pumps - 500ml of resin. So I have easily used 1.5l of resin - probably closer to 2l - in total for two layers. A lot! And it’s confirmed when I look at the canister with resin - I had some 8l left after all the glueing and now it is considerably less after these two days. It is only second time when I used a whole C-pack within a month. First doesn’t count as it was laminating the hulls and I used a lot more then for obvious reasons. Fortunately another one is on its way from Wessex Resins - this time with slow hardener (a may learn a bit slowly but I do learn from my mistakes!). Soon working with fast hardener will be a bit challenging!
