- Description: I share the planning, timekeeping and ordering behind my boatbuilding. Breaking the work into small tasks matters, especially when a late primer order nearly caused trouble.

Well, some lovely comments on my previous post and some good advice.

But that prompted me to share with you some rarely visible side of boatbuilding. It takes - at least in my case, but judging from advice I have received on combating my recent laziness, not only in my case - a lot of planning, writing, accounting for one’s time and activities.

As any complicated task it needs well defined tasks small enough to accomplish in hours rather, than days. And it requires quite a lot of planning because if you are not buying all the stuff upfront- you need to make sure everything arrives in time for the task at hand. Recent example of primer for the hull is a brilliant one - I almost messed it up but my supplier saved the day, delivering the paint in time despite my scandalously late (4.30pm on Friday!) order.

On the photographs are only few of a vast number of pages filled with tasks, counting of work hours, planned orders etc.
