# Sanding the Hull Smooth

Sanding, glorious sanding!  
I missed it. Seriously, I missed it.

It is so gratifying to see more and more of this smooth surface of the hull, these smooth curves between the side of the hull and the keel… as I have already written about the bow, I’m aware that this is the shape of the actual hull. I’m not going to make any major changes to it - just paint (early next week, just before the turning of the hulls). This curve between the hull and the keel will be there forever. As smooth or as rough as I make it now.

Nowhere to hide now.  
So no pressure, right? 😂

Btw, I left the tape a bit too long, should take it off right after putting the fairing layer on! Still, amazing as it is still goes off quite nicely, even if it needs a subtle persuasion with a tip of a chisel, being saturated with epoxy…  
Gap on the photos looks very large but in fact it is only 4 inches (10cm) wide, to make sure glass layer of the top part of the hulls comes over clean laminate of the bottom parts and not over the fairing compound.

I still wonder which hull will be actually easier to make smooth - so far the one with thick(er) layer of fairing compound is actually quite easy to sand and make lovely smooth. But it is quite likely that the other one will be even easier and faster (I certainly hope so!).
