- Description: I started preparing the cabin floors, with underfloor painting and epoxy work next. I’m also switching from “hull 1” and “hull 2” to starboard and port as the interior work begins to diverge.

Since I didn’t feel like making fillets today (well, to be truthful I was half asleep most of the day!) I decided to make use of my newly found freedom and do something else.

So I started to prepare floors for all the cabins.
I have to do it soon anyway since they have to be epoxied and I want to paint all underfloor spaces (which will be essentially finished by the time I put floors on! Yet another part of the boat nearing its completion! Yuppie!) with Danboline (nice, tough white finish) I don’t have much time to make them anyway. When floors get fixed they will be covered with self adhesive film for protection so I can safely work with all kinds of things above them without risking spilling epoxy on finished elements.

I still need to finish keel fillets on the starboard hull and glass them over in both hulls. Then bulkhead fillets under the floors and painting.
And the lowest part of the hulls will be completed.

Btw - have you noticed? Our hulls, since we turned them over, stopped being hull 1 and hull 2 (you may notice such markings on elements, mainly bulkheads, on some of the photographs).
No, we started to call them by what they will soon become - starboard and port hull. We needed to decide which one is which since just after we finish with the floors we will start doing different things in each hulls. The starboard one will get full partition between bulkheads 5 and 6 - since we get our toilet there. Port hull will get partial partition in this place. But it will get bigger worktop - and much nicer since it will be one in our galley. And it is much easier to fit the galley top now (wrapped in protective film of course!) than to try to get it inside after we finish.

Well, exciting times!

I hope I’ll see you soon in Falmouth- special Hui is only a couple of days away! And hopefully someone will have space onboard for extra sleeper as Ha’nu’na, as you probably read, won’t be arriving to Falmouth so my arrangements need to be made again…
