- Description: I’m painting the bow and stern lockers by brush and roller, because the Jotun epoxy primer is too thick for my current spray gun. I also finished the bow-cabin fillets and fixed parts of the starboard main-cabin floor.

Well, it is an absolute pain to paint inside the hull, especially here in lowest places, without using a spray gun. Unfortunately as experiences of last year have shown, even Danboline is too thick to spray it properly with the gun I have here - and this stuff, a two-part epoxy primer from Jotun (yes, I have switched allegiances from yacht paints to commercial ones - much cheaper) is even thicker.
So for now, with these three spaces (in each hull!) - bow locker (well, one with no access!), bow cabin and stern cabin bunk lockers I’ll have to suffer with a paintbrush and a roller. Later, for the rest of the hull I should have a proper compressor with a spray gun here and with that one I can spray even these paints. Notabene, Jotun’s paints are actually specified mainly for spray application- it will make a huge difference when I need to paint an entire hull! (Times two).
Anyway, I need to paint them, I won’t have too much access to these spaces in the future (or even no access at all in case of the bow compartments!) and this extra layer of protection will go a long way.
I have also finished fillets in the bow cabin in front of the bunk and fitted fixed parts of the floor in the main cabin in starboard hull. Nice end of the week, tomorrow is a rest day so I’ll be back on Sunday :)
