# Laminating the Hulls Through the Night

- Description: I spent the night draping glass fabric over the hulls, working around the heat so the epoxy would not cure on sight. Once the reinforcement and fairing are done, I can get back to our favourite pastime: sanding.

Laminating day two. Or, as it seems, a night. I took Adam Beret Mańczuk off his work to help me with glass fabric, after 2 hours of work (and unavoidable mess ups!) we have it all nicely draped over the hulls (one layer). Together with laminate over keels made earlier (still green, two layers of fabric) it is minimum 3 layers of fabric over keels (in places where hull side fabric overlaps there are 4 layers). 2pm, perfect time to start laminating (would finish between 6-8pm) but unfortunately this big bright ball in the sky decided it will be a sunny day. And despite the fact that air con is in full swing we are losing this battle and temperature inside the tent reached already 25 degrees Celsius. Since trying to cool it down is like trying to cool down a well insulated greenhouse while outside is 24 degrees, I’m not gonna risk that in two hours it will be 28 or 30 and epoxy will be curing on sight. But I can keep 15 degrees at night without a problem so it is night work for me…

I still have a little patch of glass to put on the most prominent part of the keel where glass from the hull side doesn’t reach. And last touch - after laminating this part - will be putting an aramid tape along stem, skeg and along the backbone, just as an extra reinforcement. Few hours rest and fairing layer will go on.

And then the same with the second hull. And when the second is covered in a fairing compound then our favourite pastime can resume. Sanding, I mean 😂
