- Description: With Maciek’s help, I dry-fitted four stern panels and finally completed the hull sides on both lower hulls. Now I’m sanding, filling and preparing the panel ends for glass tape—because apparently boatbuilding is mainly sanding.

Ok. My graphic design training has ended in the middle of December but we still had some business stuff to sort out, after all - that is what pays for that so we couldn't leave it. Trip to Edinburgh and meeting with our partner stretched into January.
In the first half of January Maciek - the third person in our team - has visited us to help me with the boat.

And during this short week, I realised just how much the second pair of hands can help with these bloody hull sides. In this week we have dry fitted 4 stern panels. OK, we messed up with one so I had no chance of finishing within the next week - it still meant I had sleepless nights, a few days feeling like a complete loser etc. before realising what we messed up and correcting it - but it is finally done.

Both lower hulls have full hull sides fitted, just epoxied in the very last one.

And now - the 1st of February - I finally started to work on something different! I actually poured myself a drink to celebrate, but true celebrations are reserved for a moment we finish laminating them. And later - turn them over.

But now I am working on sanding (WHAT? again?? - well, I have explained already that building a boat means mainly sanding...) places where all hull panels are meeting, saturating with epoxy places where I sanded to bare wood, filling holes left by screws and all to make sure I can laminate it tomorrow with a glass tape to reinforce ends of hull panels.

And finally felt well enough to get back home not by bus but on my new SUV.

SUV mark 2.0 - some call it a bike :)
Yes, we waved goodbye to our old SUV and sent it away. Now it is an 11-mile bike ride or a bus trip. Mostly bike - with such amazing views!
