- Description: I started early to cut out the beam through the sides and get the epoxy on before my workshop turned into a solar oven. The new shading fabric helped, but eventually it was too hot for fast hardener, so I went for a bike ride instead.

Very early start today because of the weather forecast - needed to finish cutting out beam through sides and epoxy them early enough so I could get the second layer of epoxy before it gets too hot inside my little solar oven also known as my workshop.
I have added some sun shading fabric (55% shading apparently) so it doesn’t get too hot inside before the sun gets around to hit the other side roof windows. I’m surprised how well that worked!
But around 2pm it is over as Sun is right in front of my workshop and it starts to cook everything inside from the other side - which I cannot really shade because I cannot reach beams of the roof here (well, didn’t anticipate that- would buy longer ladder!). And since in my workshop the temperature inside is at least few degrees over the outside (well, in weather like that even more!) and forecast said something about 29-30 there was no surprise when the thermometer hit the 30+ Surprising was rather how late that happened!

And since working time of epoxy with fast hardener is counted in single minutes in this temperatures there is no point cooking myself - so a bike ride it is. (This batch of resin is almost finished, I have to heel the canister to get full pumps now so I’ll be switching to slow hardener with next pack and have several minutes of working time instead)

It is really nice outside :)
